The Liberator ( Dante Walker 2) by Victoria Scott

Title: The Liberator
Author: Victoria Scott
Published: August 27th, 2013 by Entangled Teen
Number of Pages: 331

Blurb from Goodreads:Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

Review:  I LOVE DANTE!!!!! Okay so he was totally badass, and just amazing and perfect and ovary exploding good in the first book but.. GUESS WHAT GUYS?!?!?!!?!?  He is so much better in this book. I don't think I could have loved him more but I did. In this book he decides to become a better man for Charlie. Now don't worry he doesn't turn into a total softie, the Dante we love is still there. He just becomes more considerate and a better person( well mostly.)
Charlie confused me in the beginning of the book and I really wanted to shake her. I mean girl come on you're supposed to save the world, what are you doing? But then she explains everything and I loved her again and she was just as lovable and as easy to relate to as she was in the first book. She also matures a lot in this book.
Aspen. This girl was hard to like at first but she became one of my favorite characters as time went on. She had such a hard life and she deals with it in a really bad way but she is a nice person deep down. She is hilarious, though, smart and likable.  When I first heard about her I was worries about the whole love triangle but nope not in this book. BLESS VICTORIA SCOTT'S SOUL FOR THAT.
The romance was just perfect and it had me melting and swooning and screaming and yeah, this book was amazing.

And I leave you with this being

Retribution ( Lost Souls 1) by Amy Thompson

The Collectors must fight to save Regan from a fate they know all too well, but can they work to earn back their chance at redemption or are their fates sealed forever?

Who is meant for Heaven?
Who is meant for Hell?
And who is just lost?

Review: *** I was given a copy of this book for review***
When I read the first chapter for this book I was really interested. The whole idea of Lost Souls wanting redemption and council members from heaven and hell arguing where a souls belongs is really awesome. This is perhaps the best part of the novel. The fact the plot is pretty original. Also playing on the whole out-there-plot we have a mystery that is pretty hard to figure out ans furthermore we have character turmoil and plenty of drama to make the plot of this novel interesting, fast paces and intense.
The characters is where i found this book a little difficult to get through. Mainly, our heroine,Regan. I liked her in some moments but in others I just wanted to shake the girl. She acted a but childish and immature at times and had her selfish moments. Now I'm not saying she was a total Mary Sue, but she made the situation worse for herself plenty of times. There were moments when I really liked her and then BOOM the girl goes and ruins it by saying or doing something really stupid.
Colter was confusing but I liked him. He certainly had his a**whole moments, but his background and what he went through  really added depth to his character. I especially loved all the supporting characters. They were funny and made the story very realistic.
Overall this was a great read and the plot was amazing my only issue was with the heroine. However, I'm hoping our heroine will mature and that little detail will make the next book and amazing read.
 I give this novel

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

Review:  So I basically had an aneurysm while waiting for this book to come out. With the cliffhanger in the last book I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. ( And also on Blake so I can strangle him.) This book just had so many reveals I think I still haven't been able to take all of the in.
** thinks about it***  nope still haven't
I think at this point it should be obvious I absolutely loved this book. It was really fast paced and there were some really shocking moments in it. I loved the dual point of view. I mean come on we got to be In Daemon's Black head that itself could have made the book a winner for me. But Jennifer L. Armentrout did  not stop there she gave us amazing, tender moments between  the perfect, sexy, dirty mouthed, sweetheart Daemon and Katy, she raised the stakes, she introduced some amazing new characters, Archer I'm looking at you, and she killed a lot of people. I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry or hyperventilate while reading this book. The ending... I swear at this point I should have just been expecting another  cliffhanger but yeah... so surprise!!! It's a cliffhanger not as bad as Opal ( don't think anything can top that one for me) but yeah still pretty bad. I'm just going to end the review here because it would just be me fan-girling about Daemon. This book is close to perfection.

Breathe Into Me by Amanda Stone

Blurb from Goodreads:Eighteen year-old Kelsey Rien is more than ready to leave her past behind her.

Wanting nothing more than to walk into a room without everyone knowing the horrific details of an event that changed her life six years ago, she vows to concentrate on school and make something of herself.

But then she meets Kane Riley - the local bad boy. Kane's reputation is far from perfect, but is there more to him than what everyone else sees?

Kelsey soon learns that you can’t run from your past, no matter how hard you try. When her nightmares find her once again, Kelsey must find the courage to face the demons that have been haunting her and save the people she loves most.

Review: This  book was just wow. It was such an amazing read.  This novel had substance, anguish, symbolism, crazy father, like there was even karma in there somewhere. I just loved reading it. It's the kind of book that when you pick it up you slip into a different world. A world that has Kane.
     Kane what can I say?
Yeah that sounds about right Mr. Robert Downey Jr. Kane was a perfect example of why you shouldn't judge people by their appearance. Kane was a tattooed pierced bad boy who also happened to be a promiscues. What does everyone assume? He's a total asshole. Nope. Nada. No sir. He is the sweetest, most mannered, southern gentleman I have ever had the honor to read. He carried Kelsey's bag and pulled out her chair and just ahhh... like I cant just read this:
"I don’t think I will ever get enough of you, Kels. I’m addicted, and there is no going back for me. I never thought my heart was capable of these feelings until you. You shine so bright, and so warm, that you melted the ice I had around my heart and made me feel again.” He leaned forward, rested his forehead against mine and took a deep breath that he held for a minute before slowly blowing it out. “I love you, Kelsey"
See what I'm saying people? Where can I get myself one of those. And the fact that he suffered so much and still managed to pull himself together, I just don't see how he could get any better.
Kelsey.... I just wanted to hug this girl. She had such a terrible life changing event happen to hurt that just continued to haunt her. When she met Kane he was the sun that lit up her world. They were so perfect together and I couldn't get enough of the two of them. They are the kind of couple  people see in the street and go " Awww" cheese I know,  but I dare you to  read this book and not have a stupid " Awww" grin on your face. I. Dare. You.
There was something in this book I didn't see coming and I was so shocked.
Anyway go read this now it's amazing

But just as Kiarra starts trusting him with her secrets, the prison enforcers catch up with them. Now Jaxton must find a way to keep his family safe while also protecting the only woman able to ignite both his temper and his passion.

Review: ***I received a copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review.***
Going into this book I honestly had no idea what to expect. Feiru was such a different concept I really didn't know what I was getting into. Well I was in for a pleasant surprise with this. Feiru are humans who have the ability to call upon the elements i.e. Water, Fire, Wind and Earth. To protect those with these abilities the firstborn children were placed into AMT facilities for their own protection or so everyone thinks, except DEFEND, who know the truth about the AMT.
This is where out swoonworthy hero Jaxton comes in. Damn somebody grab me a fan this man is hot. He is breaking into the AMT facility to free his brother and he has to free somebody else. Our heroine Kiarra. Kiarra has been in the facility for 15 years and believes she lost her ability to control fire. She is basically a shell of a human being and she was about to turn to a drastic measure when Jaxton comes in.
When we first start off with Kiarra she is scared naive and difficult to connect with but as the novel progress she becomes an intelligent, strong independent heroine, though she does keep some of her naivete. Jaxton had his a**hole moments but really lets face it most paranormal romance heroes do. I loved the romance between these too and I really enjoyed the different perspectives we got. It was a fast paced read that kept me on the edge of my seat reading until our super happy ending.
   I give this read

Smash Into You by Shelly Crane

Title: Smash Into You
Author: Shelly Crane
Published: August 13, 2013
Number of Pages: 324
Blurb from Goodreads:Jude has spent the whole twenty one years of his life running. From what, he wasn't quite sure. His mother tried to keep him safe; a low profile, a constant move on the horizon, a week's pay always stashed away. She tried to instill in him that he was special somehow, though would never elaborate. He never felt different. He was so completely normal and vanilla that he wondered if it had all been in her head. But then she was murdered and all he saw was a running silhouette of a man as his mother said three final words to him. Three words that changed his whole being.

Never stop running…

Now he's semi-settled into a big town. The college is huge and easy to blend into. It's been three months since he had to move because 'Biloxi', as he calls the man who killed his mother, found him once more.

Then Marley, an eighteen year old girl who is as infuriating as she is blissfully ignorant of her gorgeousness, smashes into his car with hers. Then smashes into his life as he realizes that whatever it is he has that Biloxi wants, she has it, too. And now, they're after them both.

Review:  It is a truth universally acknowledged that Shelly Crane is one of the best romance authors out there. Her Significance  series still has me fangirling and day dreaming about Celeb.  So, when I saw Smash Into You I just had to had it and this book did  not disappoint.
For as long as he can remember Jude has been on the run from the man who killed his mother. He formed and almost ice- cold interior and generally doesn't like to get close to people. He's a player but he does have a good heart. He wants to keep those around him safe and doesn't want anyone to suffer the same fate his mother did. He is an extremely hard working guy and I loved the fact that the book was from his perspective, we need more guy POV books out there.
Then this fiesty, fun girl runs her truck into his car and later is basically forced into his life. She isn't the perfect female lead. She dealt with a lot in her life and has fears and anxieties that she keeps hidden. However, she is perfect for Jude and while it takes a while for them to realize it, together is the only way they would get through this alive.
I loved the novels fast pacing. It kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know exactly what the whole mystery around them was. There was a twist there that I did not see coming it kind of freight trained me in the face. But it was amazing!!!!!I loved this novel from start to finish and the ending left a huge smile on my face.
I give this smashing (get it?) novel

Torrential by Eva Morgan

Title: Torrential
Author: Eva Morgan

Blurb from Goodreads:When May Young transfers to Rothschild University, her new roommate makes her a startling bet—she'll convince her CEO parents to hire May's struggling mother if May can be the first to warm the heart of Sebastian Crane, their school’s top competitive swimmer.

Sebastian is gorgeous, genius, and a notorious loner with nothing but ice for anyone who tries to get close, including May—until she's the only one there to rescue him from the ocean when an unexpected injury causes him to nearly drown. Sebastian demands his moment of weakness be kept secret, so May extracts a promise: she'll stay quiet if he agrees to spend the rest of the semester with her and her best friend, charismatic playboy Tanner.

May's curious, naïve nature begins to soften Sebastian's cold exterior, and soon there's no hiding the heat between them from an increasingly jealous Tanner—or from Sebastian's millionaire father, who doesn't want anything distracting his son. But the closer May gets, the more she realizes that Sebastian’s teetering on the edge. He’s in a losing battle with his inner demons, and May finds herself unable to pull away—despite her personal vow never to fall in love, and despite the fact that her roommate’s motives might be just as dark as Sebastian’s past.

*Some scenes not suitable for younger readers

Review: When it comes to New Adult most books follow a similar pattern. A shy, sometimes damaged innocent girl falls for the playboy, popular, campus manwhore guy, and makes him realize that his promiscuity is not what he should want from life. The End. This book was so different from that and the novel itself could only be described as real.
May is a girl who doesn't believe in love after her father walked out on her. She stays away from guys and anything love related. However, when she meets the loner  Sebastian she can't help but be drawn to him. She tells herself it's because no one should be that alone and tells others its because of a bet she made with her roommate.
Sebastian was such a damaged, tortured soul. After the first chapter from his perspective I just wanted to give this guy a bear hug. He really needed one. He carried so many tragic memories and he blamed himself for so much that his pain was a tangible item in the book. After learning his story it wasn't hard to understand his ice cold exterior and why he keeps everyone away with a 10ft pole. He needed healing so badly and I loved that our beloved stubborn May was able to push her way through and into his heart. She chipped away at his icy exterior and made him realize that he can't carry all that blame.
I simply love their relationship it shows what love does at it's finest. Love can heal wounds and seal scars when it's done with the right reason. We see it here perfectly. May carried hatred for love over what happened to her mother and Sebastian would't let anyone near to help him with the pain he was suffering.  The fact that  they healed each other was so perfect and I really loved it.
Tanner was great and I would really like a friend like him. However, Sebastian's father I wanted to hit... in the face... with a chair... repeatedly. He was such an a**whole. I wish he would just die in a tragic accident. Is that too much to ask for? That would be the perfect ending.
Speaking of endings that's the one things I'm not happy with. What gives? That's it? I think there should be a second book it seems very un-happily ever after.

   I give this novel

eBook

Blurb from Goodreads:'It's going to take a fight, I know that. But it's more than just a fight for my life. It's a fight for my soul and my soul mate.'

Jazzy Williams is not your average coffee-loving teen. She's struggling with her grief, her famous uncle’s fans, an overprotective big brother, and a depressed mother, all while trying to make friends at her new school. In the first week, she meets a gorgeous green-eyed hottie who turns out to be more than just some high school crush - he's more than human. And she unknowingly enrages a very dangerous breed of immortal who wants her soul or life as payment. With the help of supernatural friends and protectors, Jazzy thinks she's safe until what remains of her family is put in danger. Does Jazzy have what it takes to save her family, life, soul and soul mate, or will all be lost?
*Warning* Mature Content. This contains some profanity, mild sexual situations, innuendoes, and violence. Recommended for ages 16 and up, depending on maturity level.
Review:  I'm a sucker for soul mate books. So being completely honest I picked this book up because it had a mention of soul mates. I felt really bad for Jazzy in the beginning of the book. She lost so much but she seemed to be holding on okay and I do love that she was a stronger character and wasn't really a "shell" of a heroine. Sure she had those moments where you just want to shake her but let's be honest what heroine doesn't

Henry was so funny I loved him. His relationship with Jazzy was perfect. Also the fact that I have an older brother and know what that relationship is like made me be able to appreciate their relationship so much more. Granted it may have seemed weird for people who don't have siblings but being a sibling I loved how close they were and to me it just added so much more appreciation to the novel. Also Henry's friends? Those guys were hilarious!!!!!!
Seth, I was really confused about what he was in the beginning. I went through the usual list: vampire, werewolf, fairy  the usual. I was very surprised with what happened because I really wasn't expecting it. But back to Seth. He was really cute and sweet and treated Jaz so well. He was protective and sensible and while he wasn't that talk your panties off before you know what's even going on type of hero ( Daemon Black I'm looking at you) he was lovable in his own way. I think he's the guy you bring home to meet your parents because he's just so sweet and lovable.
The villain was predictable, the moment a certain someone was introduced a light went off in my head. This is where the book follows the somewhat typical YA paranormal romance with the villain, so if you read this type of genre often you will most likely see the bug reveal coming from a mile away.
That little note aside the book was an enjoyable light read that I recommend everyone check out.
I give this novel

Review:
That was my reaction when I read an email from L.Fillon saying that I was going to get a gift of The Whispering. I mean let's face it, you would have that reaction too if you spent months waiting for this book especially after the ending of the last book. Okay that little note aside THE WHISPERING WAS AMAZING!!!!!!
I wanted to laugh, cry, hit someone, hug someone, strangle someone and then feed them to coyotes, throw the book across the room and then run after it screaming... okay I should stop now, you can all see that this book was a roller-coaster of  emotions and events.
Picking up where The Drifting  left  off and ending at the very last pages there is nonstop action and drama. Things are revealed that will make your jaw drop. Lily was so much more kickass in this book I wanted to hug the girl. She does make some dumb decisions thoough. ** insert faceplam here**  but her choices and actions can be argued as done out of love for her family. Other than that Lily was amazing.
Speaking of amazing, Tharin, who do I have to pay to get myself one of him? He was so protective and perfect and HOT I mean boy, keep a fan by yourself while reading this book this man will set your heart on fire!!!!! Granted he did have his " Me man you my woman, you do what me say!!!!" moments but he knew how much was at stake if Lily kept on taking risks like that. So all is forgiven for my beloved Tharin.
The supporting characters were so lovable and they will stay with me for a while especially Cessa( there is a little surprise with her  too.) Julia and Tolan have one of the most confusing relationships ever but I do love them as a couple. Alorn and Mellis and Ka and literally everyone else in the book played their role perfectly and I have one thing left to say. WHY IS IT OVER!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
   I give this finale
