The Curse Girl by Kate Avery Ellison

Title: The Curse Girl
Author: Kate Avery Ellison
Published: May 14, 2012
Number of Pages: 194

Blurb from Goodreads: When Bee is imprisoned in a magical, cursed house because of her father's selfish choices, she has just one plan... escape! But she must solve a riddle and help her fellow prisoners break the curse that binds them all before she can leave, and that is proving more difficult than she originally thought thanks to the bitter young master of the house, Will.

Will wants nothing to do with Bee or her help (and he certainly isn't planning on falling in love with her), but he might have underestimated just how determined and clever--and irresistible--she can be.

Review:  I love fairy tale retelling and this retelling of Beauty and the Beast was great as it was definitely a new take on a well known story. This modern retelling is  a short easy read that kept me entertained.
Bee got on my nerves a little in the beginning. I guess you could say she was a typical teenager. She was a bit selfish and stubborn. Luckily that cleared up pretty quickly in the novel. Will was a jerk in the beginning and he was definitely cold towards Beauty but to be fair he was wrongfully cursed and the time to break the curse was running out so you really can't blame the guy for being frustrated. The relationship between them was funny to read about. It definitely wasn't insta-love. It was actually like a hate turn love relationship. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:
""You’re ruining that book!” He pointed to the page I’d torn out. “That’s a perfectly good book!”

Holding his gaze, I reached down and ripped another page out. “I’m making roses.”
“Well, it’s my book.”
“Sorry.” I tore out another."
Yep like I said it's a pretty funny relationship. They actually learn to be polite towards each other in the novel and well as you probably already guessed even fall in love.
As for the plot it was definitely different  from the original. There were some twists that you could see from like the second they were introduced and then there were some that really surprised me. Overall, this is a great read for those that like a light and entertaining read.

  So I give this book

The Understorey by Amelie Fisher

Title: The Understorey
Author: Amelie Fisher
Published: April 17,2011
Number of Pages: 336

Blurb from Goodreads:  “Let’s start this place on nonexistent fire.”

“Promise.” She sucked in an excited breath.

We closed our eyes and I placed my feverish mouth to hers. Immediately, violent, zealous flashes of shimmering flames climbed to the furthest point, trailed like rain down the pitched ceiling and spilled down the walls, gathering at their feet, pools of fervent, bubbling, silvery liquid electricity, before evaporating into nothing.

Elliott Gray is incomplete, scrambling through the dark on his hands and knees, blindly feeling for the switch it would take to bring the peace he's forever been searching for.

Julia Jacobs is unhappy, missing a noticeable piece of her soul, a naked canvas with vivid paints at her disposal but no brush to assemble the vision.

At a young age, courtesy of an unknowing Elliott Gray, Julia tastes the burn of heartache and since then, has silently vowed to her heart that it would never be susceptible to such pain again but when Julia and Elliott discover they share a supernatural connection that's never been revealed before, Elliott makes it his life's goal to convince her they are fated. He knows, if she only gave him but one chance to prove himself, she would not be afraid but when Elliott's best friend Jesse Thomas turns out to be much more than meets the eye, it's all Elliott can do to hold on to his new love, while attempting to survive an enormous threat on their future.

Review: When I saw this book about eight months ago I just had to have it, so I devoured it in a day and was completely in love with it.Since I was really bored yesterday and didn't have a new book I decided to re-read it again. I think reading it the second time made me love it even more. This book has everything that makes a book great. I loves every aspect of it. It was so sweet and yet so terrifying, I was actually scared while reading this book, I don't want to give away any spoilers but the reason this book is so scary is because the conflict could easily happen in real life and it does happen to some very unfortunate people. So reading about it just gave me shivers.
The characters were amazing. Elliot was the perfect boyfriend. It was actually really cool reading from his perceptive.  He loved Jules so much and I love the fact that he wouldn't do anything to her that he wouldn't want to be done to his daughter. He has such amazing manners and he was just such a gentleman that you would have to be missing a heart not to fall for this guy. He is the perfect example of what a boyfriend should be and how a boyfriend should act.  Yeah he kind of made me swoon ;)
Julia is an outsider. She dresses different and thinks different and I really liked how she didn't try and make people like her. She was kind and smart and she was a really great girlfriend towards Elliot. She was at all his games even though people in school disliked her. She was brave and well she was at times a little impulsive but it made me love her so much.
The plot. OH.MY.GOD. The plot was amazing. This was not the book that only focused on romance. Even thought there was plenty of amazing romance. The plot was rich and so unpredictable and as I mentioned earlier spine chilling. I mean this book actually made me lock my windows and that says a lot since my room is on a second floor and I have those  weird windows that open sideways. Yeah nobody could ever climb in my window but trust me you'll be locking your windows too after reading this book. It was so intense and scary and just I don't even know how to describe but this is one of those books where the conflict is so real that you can't but apply it to your life.
The only paranormal aspect of this book was the fact that Elliot and Jules felt an electric current when they touched everything else was very real and I said before very scary.
This is definitely a book to check out if you enjoy romance with some creepy elements that leave you kind of scared.

   So this book gets

P.S. This book has one of the most amazing book trailers I ever saw. Check it out here:

What the Heart Wants by Kelli McCracken

Title: What the Heart Wants
Author:Kelli McCracken
Published November 26th 2011 by Twin Flames Press

Blurb from Goodreads: Do dreams foretell the future? Are there soul connections that go deeper than love?

He can sense her emotions at any place and time. Their bond is powerful but a mystery. One thing he does know: She's plagued his dreams for months. Maybe even longer.

Being involved with a celebrity is the last things she imagined...or wanted. Can she forget the pain from the past? Can he let go of his fears?

Review:  So I guess I'm a little biased when I say this book is amazing because I love soul-mates. It's absolutely my favorite think to read about. However, thinking about it, I have to say that even if you aren't a die-hard fan for soul-mates you will still find this book great.
Dylan is a rockstar and he has been dreaming of a girl that he calls his angel, but he pretty much convinced himself that she can't be real. Heaven has been dreaming of a boy with espresso eyes and dark hair, but she's convinced he doesn't exist. However, this changes for both of them when Heaven is the maid of honor at her best friends wedding and Dylan is the best man. Dylan knows right away that Heaven is his angel, but Heaven, never actually seeing the face of the boy in her dreams, feels an undeniable pull towards Dylan.  Dylan starts pursuing Heaven, but she can't be sure if he is actually interested or is he doing simply because he wants one thing and it's not her heart. Will she realize her love for him? Will Dylan be able to convince her they are meant to be?
So I totally loves the characters.  Even though Dylan is a rockstar, he acts nothing like one. He didn't even date because he was looking for the right girl. He is caring and sweet and well hot and well he isn't perfect. There are parts written from his perspective and what goes through his head makes him really easy to relate to and makes him appear human. He is also super protective of Heaven which is really sweet.
Heaven is an amazing character. She is helpful and smart and kind and she faced some pretty tough situations with her crazy stalker ex-boyfriend. She doesn't jump straight into a relationship, but when she does she is dedicated and just the perfect girlfriend. She isn't one of those heroines that you want to slap because they are so stupid. She also isn't  stubborn to the point  where you want to reach into the book and give her a good push and a slap across the face for being so stubborn. She is really good towards her sisters and is used to taking the back seat to let her sister Faith get the attention, which is why she is a little shy with all the attention she gets from Dylan in the beginning.
The plot wasn't anything extraordinary, don't get me wrong it was really good but the romance and the relationship between Heaven and Dylan really makes the book. So the plot has the typical dealing with paparazzi, dating a celebrity, getting rid of a guy you don't like...oh and finding your boyfriend is the guy you have been dreaming about since birth.
So yeah the plot was kind predictable but the romance was literally to die for, so if soul-mates is your type of thing definitely check out this book.

YA Crush Tourney Win - Daemon Black

Oh.My.God. So I just found out about this and well just totally had to share. Even though it really didnt come as a surprise. Anyway since he won Jennifer L.Armentrout released a deleted scene from Obsidian  and it's totally amazing, so anyway here  is the link: http://katyskrazyobsessionfans.blogspot.com/2012/07/ya-crush-tourney-win-daemon-black.html

Waiting on Wednesday

So it's Wednesday and here is the book that I have been obsessing over  for the past seven months ( I know it's been that long) but luckily its going to come  out in  20 days!!!!!!!!!! I know its so far and yet so close. So for those of you wondering what type of book has gotten me in such a rush, let me just tell you it has a kick-ass heroine who is a blogger and loves books( honestly  it wouldn't matter if she was from Uranus and had yellow hair and called herself Lalalalalalalalala, the fact that she is obsessed with books makes her awesome). She is totally amazing and has a temper and well she is just hilarious. The book also has a hot alien who makes me want to slap him and then accidentally fall on him and make out  . Yeah did I say that? I so totally didn't say that that must have been a typo. Yep it's a typo.  Anyway the hero is... to be honest I could think of a few hundred SAT words that would make my English teacher proud, but I'm going to make it simple and say that he is HOT. I'm talking like he makes the sun jealous kind of hot. And man his attitude... yeah just refer to the slapping and falling typo. So for those of you who haven't figured out what this book is even with my not so subtle hints have probably looked below and saw that the book is in fact Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout. ;)

Title: Onyx
Author: Jennifer L.Armentrout
Publish Date: August 14, 2012
Publisher: Entanglement Publishing
Number of Pages: 416

Blurb from Goodreads:Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarre connection. I’ve sworn him off even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But against all common sense, I’m falling for him. Hard.

Our relationship issues aren’t out biggest problem…

The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And when a new boy shows up a school with a secret of his own, things get complicated fast. I need to choose between my own instincts and Daemon’s.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. Daemon’s never going to stop searching until gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies.

So for all of you who read Obsidian you know why waiting for this book has gotten me in such a tizzy.
Oh and before I forget here is a teaser to torture you with until this book is released.  Mwahahahahhahahaha <-------- That was supposed to be an evil laugh of you're questioning.

“You okay with all of this?” I whispered to Daemon.

He shrugged. “Not like I can stop her.”

I knew he could if he wanted, which meant he didn’t have a problem with it.

“Cookie?” he offered, holding a cookie full of chocolate chips.

Upset tummy or not, there was no way I could refuse that. “Sure.”

His lips tipped up one side and he leaned toward me, his mouth inches from mine. “Come and get it.”

Come and get…? Daemon placed half the cookie between those full, totally kissable lips.

Oh, holy alien babies everywhere…

My mouth dropped open. Several of the girls at the table made sounds that had me wondering if they were turning into puddles under the table, but I couldn’t bring myself to check out what they really were doing.

That cookie—those lips—were right there.

Heat swept over my cheeks. I could feel the eyes of everyone on else, and Daemon… dear God, Daemon arched his brows, daring me.

Dee gagged. “I think I’m going to hurl.”

Mortified, I wanted to crawl into a hole. What did he think I was going to do? Take the cookie from his mouth like something straight out of an R rated version of Lady and the Tramp? Heck, I kind of wanted to and I wasn’t sure what that said about me.

Daemon reached up and took the cookie. There was a gleam to his eyes, as if he just won some battle. “Times up, Kitten.”

I stared at him.

Breaking the cookie into two, he handed me the larger piece. I snatched it away, half tempted to throw it back in his face, but it was… it was chocolate chip. So I ate it and loved it.

Aren't you guys excited? I'm so excited and I'm pretty sure this book is going to be great, I mean honestly if it has Daemon it really can't be bad. Okay so email/ leave a comment for me if you're just pumped for this book to come out. Bye Guys :)
So I expect  that while reading Onyx my reactions will be something like this:

Every time Daemon says anything to Katy, I’m just like

And every time he calls her “Kitten”

Oh Daemon you sexy cocky bastard you,
I just can’t understand how Katy isn’t like;

By the way I got that off tumblr so a giant thank you to whoever made that as it makes my point crystal clear.

Parallel by Claudia Lefeve

Title: Parallel
Author:Claudia Lefeve
Published: August 26th 2011 by Sugar Skull Books
Number of Pages: 264
Blurb from Goodreads:Saddled with powers she doesn't understand, Etta Fleming's world is turned upside-down the day she meets Cooper Everett, the man who transports her to an alternate reality. A reality she was meant to be a part of.

One minute, she's an orphan living at Dominion House for Girls, an institution for delinquent foster kids, then finds herself attending the exclusive Dominion Hall Academy.

Plucked from the only world she's ever known, Etta now has to deal with an aunt she never knew, a boyfriend she doesn't know, and a best friend who can't know.

Review: Okay so I just have to say that I totally love the cover. It's so pretty and it has almost an antique feel  to it, so I definitely give props to whoever made the cover, in my opinion its a job well done. Now on to the actual review.
So when I think about anything being parallel I usually think of  lines that don't intersect, it's a pretty simple idea.Yeah, Parallel  was so not simple ( And yes I really needed to highlight it to make my point.) l It was like a million lines are scribbled together in a giant mess where you have no idea what is going on but I really liked it. It was so different that I totally put up with not having any idea what in the world was happening for more than half of the book. In Parallel, there isn't just one dimension there are hundreds of them and they can be those of the past, present and future. Then there are people called Travelers who can... well travel? between different dimensions. Oh and all the dimensions are really similar. This is pretty much the short and easy explanation of the universe in the book, however it's a lot more confusing in the book.
Etta is our heroine and she's pretty cool. I didn't really love her but I enjoyed having her as a heroine. She is an orphan that has always been in the wrong place at the wrong time, or so she thinks. Bad things just happen when she's around and it may be caused by her but she can't be sure. So she keeps to herself and does what she needs to survive.
Cooper. I don't know what to say about him because well it's a really long story and I can't go into it without giving anything away. I guess I could say that he's a traveler who has to bring Etta back to the dimension she was actually born in, which by the way isn't the dimension he's from, see how the relationship could get, well  for the lack of a better term, insanely confusing. However that only scratches the top, their relationship is a lot more confusing.
The plot itself was interesting. We have Etta trying to fit in into her old life, without having any idea how things run in this dimension. She has a best friend, a potential boyfriend she doesn't remember ever having a relationship with and a queen-bee in school who hates her, ( but who doesn't deal with one of those.) Nothing is revealed in the plot until the end of the book, at which point when everything gets revealed, you will get even more confused. I was taring at the book for about an hour after I finished it trying to figure what just happened. Yeah, I got even more confused trying to un-confuse myself.
Overall this is a good book. It has a great premise and if you don't mind getting confused to the point where your brain is fuming then this book is for you :) And if you decide to read it, e-mail me/message me and maybe we'll make some sense of what happened at the end of the book.

Remembrance by Michelle Meadow

Title: Remembrance
Author: Michelle Meadow
Published:July 27th 2011 by Dreamscape Publishing
Number of Pages: 314
Blurb from Goodreads:  Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.

Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's high school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she get him out of her mind?

Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, fighting fate isn't going to be easy.

Review:  Okay so I was supposed to read Between the Lines  by Jodi Picoult, but I still can't get my hands on the book. :'(  . So I decided to read remembrance as a way to take up time before I can get Between the Lines, however this book was nothing like what I expected and I can barely contain myself from squealing This is the kind of books that leaves you with a big smile and your face and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy :) . This book had a heroine that isn't pathetic or stupid( you have no idea have rare that is these days... well actually some of you readers out there have a pretty good idea.) Lizzie is just an average high school  junior. She has a best friend and a not so great boyfriend. All that changes when Drew arrives, and she starts having flashbacks of a past life a life that she shared with Drew. However, Drew made it very clear he wants nothing to do with her, however Lizzie isn't the one to just give up.
So first I'll start with the boyfriend, Jeremy. He annoyed the baby kitties out of me. I mean this kid was just a terrible boyfriend. I don't even know how Lizzie could stand this guy. That's it he was terrible I have nothing else to say about him. Oh, except he had the sex appeal of a hippo. (yeah I went there :) )
Drew on the other hand was totally amazing, that is when he wasn't being hot and cold. Even though I understand why he acted the way he did he was a bit annoying in the beginning. He manages to become completely swoon worthy by the end of the book though.
There wasn't a big plot to the novel but the events that did occur bring up a lot of questions. Can you really change fate? If you were given a second chance would you take it and risk heartbreak? Can people really change?
I enjoyed the points this book brought up and it was a good and easy read that I really enjoyed.

Hey guys, so I cant decide what I should read and review next :( Help me decide please?

Dank has known from the beginning Leif wasn’t human. But he hadn’t worried about a simple soulless creature. Now, he realizes he made a grave mistake. Pagan’s soul has been marked since birth as a restitution, to a spirit so dark not even Death walks near it. Dank knows saving Pagan’s soul won’t be easy but Pagan is his. And he’s already proven he’ll defy Heaven to keep her. If Hell wants a piece of him too, then bring it on.

Kindred by J.A. Redmerski

Blurb from GoodreadsIsaac Mayfair is hiding a dark secret. And just when Adria Dawson thinks the worst of her life among the werewolf world is over, she learns the secret that can rip her and Isaac’s love apart. Adria must come to terms with what the truth means for her. What it means for her life and how much time she has left to live it. She must choose between two different fates, neither of which can offer life as a certainty.

As if Isaac’s betrayal isn’t enough, Adria learns that there are things out there older and more powerful than werewolves could ever be. An archaic entity known only to few as the Praverian, unlike anything Adria has ever known or heard of.

As Adria struggles with her own fateful dilemmas, she must also try to find out why the Praverian is so interested in her and do everything in her power to stay out of its way.

First let me just say that the cover is gorgeous. I mean it's actually pretty hot. Okay so onto the review :)
Oh My God. This book was amazing, I don't even know where to start, I mean this book was just out of this world. I loved Mayfair Moon but this book is even better.
From the first chapter of this book up until the very last page I was holding my breath. There were just so many questions. As Adria struggles with the Blood Bond that was unwillingly performed on her, or so she thinks, I struggled with her. I mean I felt like I was the one losing my mind and it just had me completely hooked. I really think Adria made the list of my favorite heroines ever. She faced so much in her life but she is just so positive and she is so loyal even after all this time she still cares about her sister and her mom. Its just great. Which is why I struggled so much with was happening to her. I really cared about her in a way I felt like she was my friend telling me her story. It takes a great author and great writing skills to do that.
Isaac. I just loved him here. He cares about Adria so much and how he was so afraid of losing it was just breaking my heart through out the entire book. Now those of you stressing that the bad boy, total hottie Isaac has become soft can relax he is even badder and hotter in this installment. He has that playful banter to him but we get to see just how much he cares for Adria, it really was awesome.
Which brings me to the plot. I have no words and I mean none. It was nothing like what I expected. This hasn't happened in a while usually I can predict what might happen, well not here. I would say 99% of what  happened had me surprised. There is just so much getting revealed and so many twists and turns that I was sitting in my room reading and avoiding the text messages my friends were sending me. I was actually angry when someone would interrupt me from this book. ( My reaction kind of scared me.) This book is a fast paced, nail biting, hair pulling, kindle clutching,  heart pounding ride and I loved every minute of it. In no part of this book was I bored or distracted every scene has something to it that kept you glued.
Although I'm kind of mad at myself now because I read this on the day it came out and will now have to wait for the next book  which is the last. I think I'm going to be sad to see Adria and Isaac go, but also I wouldn't want them to face drama for ten books which is why I'm very happy this is a trilogy.
P.S. This book is HOT, as in fan yourself with your kindle kind of hot. Well consider yourself warned.
  Anyway this book gets
