Royal Obsession (Royal 3) by Megan Moldonado

Title: Royal Obsession (Royal 3)
Author: Megan Moldonado
Number of Pages:356

Blurb from Goodreads:FIRE KINGDOM—CARMELLA & DEREK
Everything comes with a price…
For Carmella Woods, daughter of the prestigious and highly favored Lord Woods, feeling caged is no novelty. Her entire life has been designed in the hopes to make her fit, to adapt to what her parents perceive as respectable, honorable. Not doing so has high, unthinkable consequences. Consequences she has faced in the past, and has lost the fight against in the present.
Doing her best to be an obedient daughter and keep her essence—her spark—has proven quite difficult, especially since the favored her father praises are nothing more than a group of superficial bigots.
Until Derek Warren reenters her life.
Gorgeous, egocentric Derek Warren. Womanizing, dangerous Derek Warren.
After being fiercely rejected by Prince Derek, Carmella can hardly glance at him without feeling enraged. Though that quickly changes as her life is swooped into a whirlwind, with the prince at the center of the chaos—of the blaze. A link to who she truly is.
In a battle between past and present, truth and lies, Carmella must decide whether to fight the licks of flame that threaten to consume her, or embrace them.

Review:     *** A copy of this novel was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review***
We got a glimpse of Carmella and Derek in the first novel and I was immediately intrigued, so I'm very glad they received their own story.
Carmella was in incredible character, where in the first novel I didn't agree with the heroine on multiple occasions, here I simply adored Carmella. She was tough, dedicated, aware, and basically just a superb human being. I enjoyed reading her story and she was an incredible heroine.
Derek. Kind of wanted to smack him a little bit. He's an incessant flirt which was a little annoying but he was just so not aware of the consequences and effects his actions have. At the beginning of the novel we learn that he had deeply hurt Carmella, and you would think he would at least have an inkling that what he did wasn't exactly nice. However, he had no idea and continued to be stubborn throughout the novel. He did have his positives that made me like him, but still Derek stop being so Derek-ey.
Amanda, she's so lovable she has to have her own paragraph. She is n adorable munchkin. That is all.
I loved that we got a significantly deeper view into the paranormal world and I really enjoyed how the plot developed and progressed, up until the end. That cliffhanger...  I really don't know what to say, I desperately looked for more pages reloaded my kindle thinking maybe something had malfunctioned, but no this ending is not as hair tearing frustrating as the first... but is still really painful.
I enjoyed the novel, the writing was good and easy to follow, the characters were relatable and (for the most part, looking at you Derek) very likable.

Blurb from Goodreads:They are forever…

Sydney Field’s life is a rollercoaster on steroids with one constant—Ryan Edwardson.

Best friends since a projectile crayon incident in kindergarten, Sydney and Ryan have stuck it out together through thick and thin, pranks and rants, and anything in between.

One kiss changes everything…

As Sydney does her best to sort through her new found feelings for Ryan and mend what she broke in their friendship, the rollercoaster makes a complete one-eighty, unveiling Ryan’s lifelong secrets.

Thrust into a world chalk full of royalty and kingdoms and wielders, Sydney starts to wonder what’s up or down, right or wrong, reality or fantasy.

In a twist of events, Sydney finds herself enveloped in a world she never knew she belonged to. Friends become enemies, strangers become her survival, and love becomes the ultimate price.

Review:
*** A copy of this novel was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review***
The novel begins as a very typical contemporary novel, girl from the wrong side of town is best friends with the boy who has it all, the pair are close as can be until our heroine realizes she holds feelings for her best friend. Easy enough. However, the story complicates as Sydney learns about an entire differently world her best friend is a part of and the role it can play in her life.
Sydney was an intriguing character. She's hard working, funny, sarcastic compassionate, she has everything needed to be an ideal heroine. However, at times I found that I wanted to shake her... just a little... okay fine, fine, maybe a little more than a little. She definitely complicated situation more than was necessary at certain points in the novel. However, overall, I did like her as a character and she did improve as the story progressed.
Now, on to Ryan. Someone hold me I'm swooning. Boyfriend material right there. He really was a favorite of mine. He had an easy going attitude and the scenes he was in were always super interesting to read. Basically, he's perfect and I would like to know who I can talk to about getting a Ryan.
The chemistry between the characters was good, and bless the powers that be no insta-love people!!! I wish the paranormal world had been introduced more, we got an introduction of it, but I would have loved to learn more about Ryan's society.
The ending. This is a touchy subject for me. I do understand the concept of cliffhangers, however, I very much dislike that concept. Why? Everything was so perfect, and then I was left staring at my kindle in agony. Really looking forward to the next book because I am in desperate need of answers.
Overall the novel was excellent, the author did an amazing job with character development and story plot. It was a fast paced, entertaining read that I would very much recommend reading.

A is for Abstinence ( V is for Virgin 2) by Kelly Oram

Title:A is for Abstinence (V is for Virgin 2)
Author: Kelly Oram
Published: May 12, 2014
Number of Pages: 204

Blurb from Goodreads:Six-time Grammy Award-winning musician Kyle Hamilton has it all—money, fame, talent, good looks, and a job he loves. His only regret in life: walking away from a certain notorious virgin because he was too prideful, stubborn, and even afraid to give her the only thing she asked of him—his abstinence.

Four years and a broken heart later, Kyle realizes that sex isn’t everything, and he suddenly can’t stop thinking about the girl that got away. Virgin Val Jensen got under his skin like no one else ever has. He wasn’t ready for her then, but things are different now. He’s grown up, he’s learned a few things, and he’s finally figured out exactly what he wants, or, rather, who he wants.

Kyle Hamilton wants a do-over, and this time he’s willing to do—or not do—whatever it takes.

Review:  So we all know Kyle from V is for Virgin, but this is an improved version of him. Now granted he was a major douche in the first book, however, he does  make up for it here in the best way possible. He is out to get what he wants and he wants Val( who royally annoyed me during some moments of this book, kind of wanted to shake the girl a little).
This is definitely a novel for the hopeless romantics out there chasing the HEA, and it simply warned my little fangirl heart. Granted the plot wasn't exactly intense and hard to predict but it didn't matter to me because I chose this book for the closure, amazing banter  and super heated chemistry between Kyle and Val.

She smirked and shook her head. “New tricks. Same dog.”

It was impossible not to take her words as a challenge. I pushed her back until she was pinned against the door and leaned in close enough that our breaths mingled. Her eyes snapped wide the same way they always had whenever I’d invaded her personal space, and I watched, satisfied, as she sucked in a lung full of air and held it.

“That mentality will be your downfall this time around, Val.” I leaned in, letting my lips linger at her jawline for a moment too long before bringing them to her ear.

“Same old tricks,” I whispered. “New man.”

"Thoughts of you runnin’ through my head
Heart’s pumpin’ full speed ahead
Body’s screaming to get you in bed
Need you, want you, baby gotta be mine
Come to me girl, I’m done wastin’ time
You ask me to wait, don’t know if I can
Too scared to lose, I’m only a man
But I can’t let you go, can’t shut the door
Heart’s telling me you’re worth waiting for
The feel of your lips, hot breath on my skin
Touching you, touching me, I’d relish the sin
Let’s find a way for us both to win
Need you, want you, baby gotta be mine
Come to me girl, I’m done wastin’ time
You ask me to wait, don’t know if I can
Too scared to lose, I’m only a man
But I can’t let you go, can’t shut the door
Heart’s telling me you’re worth waiting for
Forever I’ll wait, it’s drivin’ me mad
Driven by memories I’ve not yet had
Hangin’ on a promise of you and me
Hope springs eternal for things that could be
You ask me to wait, don’t know if I can
Too scared to lose, I’m only a man
But I can’t let you go, can’t shut the door
Heart’s telling me you’re worth waiting for
You ask me to wait, don’t know if I can
Too scared to lose, I’m only a man
Bring on the torture, forever and more
’Cause girl it’s true, you’re worth waiting for"

Don't know why you're still thinking get this book. Like right now. Shoo!
I'm handing over 5 very very well earned hearts by Kyle. ( Read the book you'll get the reference)

Opposition (Lux 5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Title: Opposition (Lux 5)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Blurb from Goodreads:Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

Review:  What can I say? This was the perfect conclusion to a perfect series. I was a little scared to start this book simply because I was not ready to part ways with Daemon and Katy, Dee, Dawson Archer, and even the scary as all hell Luc. However, I am so glad I did. I really don't need to rant about the flawless execution of this book. I laughed,  I cried, I swooned and I fell in love with all the characters over again.

“What the hell, man?” Dawson exploded, hands flying up. “I was on level sixty-nine of Candy Crush, you bastard. Do you know how hard that—?”
And then Daemon goes and says something sweet like...
And Katy says something badass like...

"I think you do like Archer, and you just don’t want to admit that you’re in the beginning stages of a bromance to end all bromances."

This book broke my feels in the best way possible and for that I give it

Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?

New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Thoughts:
“The thing about falling in love so that no matter where you are when it happens, you can’t help but to color those moments with beauty, even if you’re in a location of ugliness. He made what would have been a place of nightmares into a place to dream.”

AHHHH OH MY SWEET BABY JESUS THIS WAS PERFECT, AMAZING, SPELLBINDING, ELECTRIFYING I HAVE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW GREAT THIS BOOK IS!!!!!!!!
This it the kind of book that has an intense plot, thought out and developed characters , some HOT sex and it's all put together with a neat little bow into a read that you just can't put down until you read the last page. This book grabs your heart and doesn't give it back until the last line on the last page.
So let's start with Evie she is a caring, sweet and hardworking girl. She makes the best of what she has and doesn't mope about her life. It was so amazing to see her just appreciate what she has and not complain about what she doesn't.  This girl suffered so much yet she still manages to see the best in people and be a ray of sunshine. I just loved her.
    Jake....
Need I say more? Well yes I do actually. At first I wasn't sure I would like Jake he came on a little strong and Evie is just so innocent I would have strangled Jake if he broke her heart, but the more I read the more I fell in love with Jake. You could see his little cracks and flaws and you knew he was hiding something( Lauren I'm looking at you) but his vulnerability made his so lovable and his treatment of Evie he is such a perfect gentleman and he cares for her so much.
I knew the huge plot twist that was coming but that doesn't even matter because  most of the tension was in waiting for Evie to figure it out and see what she's going to do about it.
Now I am done talking and you need to be done reading this is a definite must read for those who appreciate a good romance.

OHHH and the flashbacks!!!! Be still me heart

Review:  I have been painfully waiting for this book since I read Elfin, needless to say I did a little happy dance when  I saw that this book had been finally released. It was such an intense, fast paced and the same time romantic and toe curling read that this book didn't leave my hands until I was done.
Cassie really is a great heroine and her innocence is  a breath of fresh air. I love her inner dialogue and I love her and Trik together.
Trik, his love for Cassie is so amazing and he would literally burn the world down to save her. He's arrogant, hot, protective alpha male who really really really loves his mate.
This book has so many unexpected surprises some of which had me floored to say the least.
A definite must read
I give these sexy elves

The Liberator ( Dante Walker 2) by Victoria Scott

Title: The Liberator
Author: Victoria Scott
Published: August 27th, 2013 by Entangled Teen
Number of Pages: 331

Blurb from Goodreads:Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

Review:  I LOVE DANTE!!!!! Okay so he was totally badass, and just amazing and perfect and ovary exploding good in the first book but.. GUESS WHAT GUYS?!?!?!!?!?  He is so much better in this book. I don't think I could have loved him more but I did. In this book he decides to become a better man for Charlie. Now don't worry he doesn't turn into a total softie, the Dante we love is still there. He just becomes more considerate and a better person( well mostly.)
Charlie confused me in the beginning of the book and I really wanted to shake her. I mean girl come on you're supposed to save the world, what are you doing? But then she explains everything and I loved her again and she was just as lovable and as easy to relate to as she was in the first book. She also matures a lot in this book.
Aspen. This girl was hard to like at first but she became one of my favorite characters as time went on. She had such a hard life and she deals with it in a really bad way but she is a nice person deep down. She is hilarious, though, smart and likable.  When I first heard about her I was worries about the whole love triangle but nope not in this book. BLESS VICTORIA SCOTT'S SOUL FOR THAT.
The romance was just perfect and it had me melting and swooning and screaming and yeah, this book was amazing.

And I leave you with this being

The Collectors must fight to save Regan from a fate they know all too well, but can they work to earn back their chance at redemption or are their fates sealed forever?

Who is meant for Heaven?
Who is meant for Hell?
And who is just lost?

Review: *** I was given a copy of this book for review***
When I read the first chapter for this book I was really interested. The whole idea of Lost Souls wanting redemption and council members from heaven and hell arguing where a souls belongs is really awesome. This is perhaps the best part of the novel. The fact the plot is pretty original. Also playing on the whole out-there-plot we have a mystery that is pretty hard to figure out ans furthermore we have character turmoil and plenty of drama to make the plot of this novel interesting, fast paces and intense.
The characters is where i found this book a little difficult to get through. Mainly, our heroine,Regan. I liked her in some moments but in others I just wanted to shake the girl. She acted a but childish and immature at times and had her selfish moments. Now I'm not saying she was a total Mary Sue, but she made the situation worse for herself plenty of times. There were moments when I really liked her and then BOOM the girl goes and ruins it by saying or doing something really stupid.
Colter was confusing but I liked him. He certainly had his a**whole moments, but his background and what he went through  really added depth to his character. I especially loved all the supporting characters. They were funny and made the story very realistic.
Overall this was a great read and the plot was amazing my only issue was with the heroine. However, I'm hoping our heroine will mature and that little detail will make the next book and amazing read.
 I give this novel

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

Review:  So I basically had an aneurysm while waiting for this book to come out. With the cliffhanger in the last book I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. ( And also on Blake so I can strangle him.) This book just had so many reveals I think I still haven't been able to take all of the in.
** thinks about it***  nope still haven't
I think at this point it should be obvious I absolutely loved this book. It was really fast paced and there were some really shocking moments in it. I loved the dual point of view. I mean come on we got to be In Daemon's Black head that itself could have made the book a winner for me. But Jennifer L. Armentrout did  not stop there she gave us amazing, tender moments between  the perfect, sexy, dirty mouthed, sweetheart Daemon and Katy, she raised the stakes, she introduced some amazing new characters, Archer I'm looking at you, and she killed a lot of people. I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry or hyperventilate while reading this book. The ending... I swear at this point I should have just been expecting another  cliffhanger but yeah... so surprise!!! It's a cliffhanger not as bad as Opal ( don't think anything can top that one for me) but yeah still pretty bad. I'm just going to end the review here because it would just be me fan-girling about Daemon. This book is close to perfection.

Breathe Into Me by Amanda Stone

Title: Breathe Into Me
Author: Amanda Stone

Number of Pages: 306

Blurb from Goodreads:Eighteen year-old Kelsey Rien is more than ready to leave her past behind her.

Wanting nothing more than to walk into a room without everyone knowing the horrific details of an event that changed her life six years ago, she vows to concentrate on school and make something of herself.

But then she meets Kane Riley - the local bad boy. Kane's reputation is far from perfect, but is there more to him than what everyone else sees?

Kelsey soon learns that you can’t run from your past, no matter how hard you try. When her nightmares find her once again, Kelsey must find the courage to face the demons that have been haunting her and save the people she loves most.

Review: This  book was just wow. It was such an amazing read.  This novel had substance, anguish, symbolism, crazy father, like there was even karma in there somewhere. I just loved reading it. It's the kind of book that when you pick it up you slip into a different world. A world that has Kane.
     Kane what can I say?
Yeah that sounds about right Mr. Robert Downey Jr. Kane was a perfect example of why you shouldn't judge people by their appearance. Kane was a tattooed pierced bad boy who also happened to be a promiscues. What does everyone assume? He's a total asshole. Nope. Nada. No sir. He is the sweetest, most mannered, southern gentleman I have ever had the honor to read. He carried Kelsey's bag and pulled out her chair and just ahhh... like I cant just read this:
"I don’t think I will ever get enough of you, Kels. I’m addicted, and there is no going back for me. I never thought my heart was capable of these feelings until you. You shine so bright, and so warm, that you melted the ice I had around my heart and made me feel again.” He leaned forward, rested his forehead against mine and took a deep breath that he held for a minute before slowly blowing it out. “I love you, Kelsey"
See what I'm saying people? Where can I get myself one of those. And the fact that he suffered so much and still managed to pull himself together, I just don't see how he could get any better.
Kelsey.... I just wanted to hug this girl. She had such a terrible life changing event happen to hurt that just continued to haunt her. When she met Kane he was the sun that lit up her world. They were so perfect together and I couldn't get enough of the two of them. They are the kind of couple  people see in the street and go " Awww" cheese I know,  but I dare you to  read this book and not have a stupid " Awww" grin on your face. I. Dare. You.
There was something in this book I didn't see coming and I was so shocked.
Anyway go read this now it's amazing
